Gender Bias - The Role of Women and Gender Equality in Education
Fitriyani, Arita Marini, Zulela MS

Universitas Pelita Bangsa, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Abstract

Gender equality in modern society today is still hindered by stereotypes regarding the roles and positions of men and women. Gender is a view or belief formed by society about how a woman or man should behave or think. In society the role of life is dominated more by the role of men and in public life under their authority is women. In the Qur^an surah Al-Isra verse 70 which reads that Allah Almighty has created human beings i.e. men and women in the best form with the most honorable position. The method that will be used is to use a quality approach to be able to obtain data on the benefits of gender relations in Islam more than just regulating gender justice in society, but theologically regulating the pattern of microcosm (human), macrosrosmos (nature), and God relations. Islam came to give an important position in both the law and the same rights as men, so that there is no discrimination for women. The problem that exists today is that there are differences in views on the position and perspective of women in the educational environment where there are some opinions that say that Women are very dependent on men, so that currently the issue of women leaders in the world of education provides a complete picture of their position, political rights, professional employment opportunities have nothing to do with religious values, only there are still differences between scholars, community leaders and the community itself (Agesna, 2018), this finally proves that there is no gender bias in the world of education

Abstract

Abstract
The National Movement for Mental Revolution (GNRM) aims to strengthen the character of students in educational units through the ability of students to process their feelings, hearts, minds, and bodies through collaboration between family, education, and society. Elementary school is an educational institution that provides basic education by instilling discipline and habits to instill the character to be formed. In character education in schools, all components (stakeholders) must be involved, including the components of education itself, namely curriculum content, learning and assessment processes, quality of relations, handling or management of subjects, school management, implementation of activities, empowering infrastructure, financing, and the work ethic of all residents and the school environment. The government launched an honesty canteen program as a medium for teaching moral values to students through real action. SDN Kawung Luwuk is an elementary school that has implemented an honesty canteen program as an embodiment of an environment capable of developing honest character in students by providing healthy snacks based on safety and presentation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method approach to understand the phenomena experienced by research subjects by describing data in written form and language based on observations. The results of the study show that the implementation of the school^s vision and mission in the honesty canteen program is led by the school principal by involving teachers on pickets and designing a curriculum with teacher competence that meets existing standards. The role of the teacher in providing exemplary examples to students turns out to have a good influence on having students who are willing to take responsibility and students already have a positive competitive spirit. In addition, children^s learning motivation is also influenced by the connections between students and teachers based on a disciplinary perspective, starting from submitting assignments on time, and arriving at school on time. The implementation of the honesty canteen was able to show that schools could continue to increase student learning motivation and create a positive and quality educational environment supported by the school committee^s commitment to helping make the smallest environment with character and principle.

Inspiration of lifelong learning in traditional-based learning
Dr. Bilal Khalid Khalaf

University of Anbar

Abstract

Innovative educational opportunities and contemporary studies about how to effectively build and conduct professional educational programs have emerged as a result of the widespread availability of educational technology and the expansion of the information society. Due to increased competition brought on by globalisation and the emergence of new competitors in the global educational arena, several countries have turned their attention to the production of enhanced, knowledge-based products and solutions in education. The promise of lifelong learning is a completely promising strategy, especially for the higher education institutions, with an emphasis on making traditional-based universities available to those who want to keep learning throughout their lives. Meanwhile, these educational systems and universities in particular, face a number of challenges, such as the effects of globalization, an ageing population, fiercer competition from both local and international institutions, and the rapid development of new technologies. While, the majority of experts think that conventional institutions need to undergo a radical transformation by adopting a culture of lifelong learning in order to effectively address all of these challenges, the implementation of this strategy will have a profound impact on higher education. To facilitate this shift, traditional-learning universities will need to craft strategies and policies that make use of flexible academic frameworks, innovative teaching methods, novel forms of assessment, and inter-institutional partnerships to attain the required results.
