Abstract

This study aims to develop and apply a Problem Based Learning learning model in an effort to develop students^ critical thinking skills in fractional word problems. The research was conducted in the odd semester of 2022/2023 with the research subjects consisting of 30 fifth semester PGSD students. The research was conducted using qualitative analysis methods by collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The Problem Based Learning model is carried out through learning stages, namely training students in using the various concepts, principles and skills they have learned to solve the problems they are facing. The results showed that the problem based learning model had an impact on the ability to think critically to develop, because the critical thinking skills observed in the research resulted in the ability to identify, analyze, solve problems, think logically and make decisions correctly and be able to draw conclusions. The problem based learning learning model provides opportunities for students to apply problem based learning providing opportunities for students to develop critical thinking skills
