Abstract
This research was conducted to investigate the impact of using the Interactive Lecture Demonstrations (ILD) learning model on the ability to understand concepts in students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program (PGSD) at Primagraha University. This study used an initial experimental research method with a one-group pretest-posttest design which was conducted on second semester PGSD students at Primagraha University. The sampling technique was carried out using the group sampling method (cluster sampling). Data collection was carried out through an initial test (pretest) and a final test (posttest) to measure the ability to understand the concepts of PGSD students. The results of the effect size calculations show that the application of the Interactive Lecture Demonstrations (ILD) learning model has a significant impact on the ability to understand concepts. The calculation of the effect size in this study uses the Cohen formula, with an effect size score of 0.81. This score is categorized as a large effect, indicating that the application of the Interactive Lecture Demonstrations (ILD) learning model has a significant effect on the ability to understand the concepts of PGSD students. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Interactive Lecture Demonstrations (ILD) model in learning Natural Science Basic Concepts has a significant impact on the conceptual understanding abilities of PGSD students.
