Abstract

The value of human resources in assuring a company^s performance is becoming increasingly crucial as the unpredictable nature and complexity of business environments increase. Effective management of people inside a company has historically been a responsibility of human resource management. Aligning human efforts with corporate goals is becoming more and more important in todays changing business environment. Considering this, several human resource management (HCM) and talent management (TM) concepts and methodologies have arisen. As there is overlap in the definitions of these ideas and the unifying subject of these concepts is attaining organizational goals via people, there is a significant deal of uncertainty regarding their nature, scope, and applicability. These HR practitioners, HR managers, and business strategists struggle to confidently implement these principles. There is also the issue of whether these ideas are inclusive or exclusive of one another. The primary goal of this essay is to investigate the nature, application, and significance of the concepts of talent management (TM) and human capital management (HCM) in organizational contexts. An exhaustive examination of the literature led to the creation of this report by identifying and resolving any possible areas of doubt in these concepts it is hoped that this study will be able to define their functional nature, scope, relevance, and applicability. The results of this study will give this ideas use in an organizational setting a clear direction.

The Impact of Human Capital Investment on Organization Culture: A Study Case The Development of BerAKHLAK Work Culture in Ministry of Home Affairs Indonesia
Rina Syarini

Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Abstract

Over the decades, organizational culture has increasingly become a major concern in managing both private and government organizations. This cannot be separated from the role of organizational work culture in encouraging organizational performance. Realizing the urgency of strengthening the work culture for government institutions in this VUCA era, President Jokowi has launched the same core value for civil servants in all ministries/institutions/local governments, namely BerAKHLAK (Service Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative). In order to support the President^s direction, the Ministry of Home Affairs in 2022 has carried out human capital investment through a series of training and development activities for civil servants of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
This study aims to determine whether intellectual capital has an impact on strengthening the BerAKHLAK work culture at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Data was collected through qualitative methods with a total of 60 respondents. Respondents consisting of staff and officials were interviewed through a focus group discussion process conducted in 2 batches. The results showed that the training and development program had an influence on increasing the understanding of civil servants about BerAKHLAK work culture. However, the program has not significantly impacted the realization of the Ministry of Home Affairs BerAKHLAK. The study also recommends that leadership factors play a major role in accelerating the internalization of BerAKHLAK for all civil servants. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the role of leaders both as drivers of change and as role models in the implementation of BerAKHLAK work culture.

Rani Intan,Puji Wahono,Hamidah

The State University of Jakarta

Abstract

Purpose: Collaboration in research team becomes increasingly popular along with the need for research findings that provide contributions of knowledge and scientific solutions from multidisciplinary studies. Following the model of IPO (inputs, processes, outputs), this study examined the influence of two input factors- shared leadership and team trust on research team effectiveness as measured by the individual-kevel team outcomes- subjective perceived performance, team member satisfaction and team viability. This study also examined the mediating effect of the process factors- team cohesion and collective efficacy. It was hypothesized that shared leadership and team trust would predict team effectiveness, with team cohesion and collective efficacy as mediators. Based on previous literature reviews, it can be concluded that these input factors (shared leadership and cognition-based trust) and team processes (team cohesion and collective efficacy) have positive impacts on team effectiveness.
Design/methodology/approach: The sample comprised 300 faculty members of universities in Indonesia (100 teams). The respondents were asked to consider one research project in which they were involved either as a project leader or team member when completing the questionnaire. Using structural equation modelling to assess shared leadership, team trust, collective efficacy and team cohesion on team effectiveness (subjectively perceived productivity, members^ satisfaction and team viability).

Abstract

Human capital is one of the most vital assets an organization possesses. Research has demonstrated that human capital is directly related to performance. Thus, there is a clear incentive for organizations to grow their human capital levels. Not surprisingly, then, organizations have created and employed a wide variety of managerial practices focused on further developing human capital within their employees. However, even as private university owners. facing an impending human resource shortage due to the retirement of a large proportion of its workforce, empirical research investigating the impact of commonly used human resource development practices on performance in the education sector is scarce. Therefore, to gain a deeper understanding of this dynamic relationship, using data from lecturer personnel, this study analyzes the impact of human resource development practices on agency performance. The results of the longitudinal econometric analysis show that human resource development practices have a positive effect on institutional performance.

Analysis Review of the Literature on Health Digital Transformation : Application of Electronic Medical Record to Organizational Commitment Of Professional Medical Record & Health Information
Meliana, Hamidah, Corry Yohana

Universitas Negeri Jakarta

Abstract

In this article we provide a systematic review of the vast but diverse and fragmented literature on digital transformation (DT), with the aim of clarifying the boundary conditions for understanding the phenomenon from a Digital Transformation perspective on the application of electronic medical records to organizational commitment in the Medical Recording & Health Information profession. Research method: examines journals with criteria, namely research that has been published, at least comes from accredited journals, and journals related to Digital Transformation. Strategy: using secondary data obtained not from direct observation but from the results of research conducted by previous researchers. Research results: Based on the 15 researched articles a multidimensional framework is obtained that synthesizes what is known about DT and distinguishes two important thematic patterns: DT moves companies towards malleable organizational designs that enable continuous adaptation, and this step is embedded and driven by the digital business ecosystem . From these two patterns, we derive four perspectives on the DT phenomenon: technological impact, compartmentalized adaptation, systemic shift, and holistic coevolution. Linking the findings and interpretations to existing work, it was found that the nature of DT is only partially covered by conventional frameworks of organizational commitment. Suggestions for further research focus on changing work paradigms, data privacy security, employee skills and competencies, social impact, system integration, risk management and law enforcement

Abstract

The luxury goods industry has garnered global attention as a symbol of status and pride in people^s lives. This is particularly evident in the Asia-Pacific region, which boasts the largest consumer base for personal luxury goods. To capitalize on this immense opportunity, numerous prominent fashion houses are striving to establish their presence in the region. Indonesia, in particular, has witnessed significant growth in luxury goods consumption among the upper-middle-class segment. Several Muslim local brands have entered the market, offering luxurious and exclusive products characterized by high-quality fabrics and premium pricing, similar to established luxury brands. However, dissatisfaction among customers regarding the quality of these Muslim local brand products has emerged as a concern. Such dissatisfaction jeopardizes the brand^s public image and impacts brand loyalty. Consequently, this study explores the relationship between brand image, customers perceived value, customers perceived quality, and brand loyalty, with customer satisfaction as the mediating variable. Through a survey targeting Muslim wear consumers, data was analyzed using PLS-SEM. Remarkably, the research reveals that brand image significantly influences brand loyalty, even when customers are dissatisfied. Therefore, it is recommended that Muslim wear brands strengthen their brand image in alignment with the desired values they seek to represent.

Abstract

E-commerce has revolutionized the beauty industry, offering customers a wealth of content and information to inform their purchasing decisions. Brands have harnessed the power of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to elevate the live shopping experience, influencing consumer behavior. Despite its popularity, live shopping has not yet become the main platform for buying beauty products, posing challenges in building trust for online skincare purchases in Indonesia. This research aims to explore how the presence of KOLs impacts customers perception of value and trust, influencing their intention to purchase skincare products through live streaming e-commerce. The study adopts a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses. Qualitative data is analyzed using automated coding with NVivo software, while quantitative data is analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The research targets skincare enthusiasts experienced in live streaming features, with a minimum of 12 respondents for qualitative analysis and 200 respondents for quantitative analysis. The qualitative phase also explores additional variables such as brand preference and price promotion, which are further examined quantitatively. The findings emphasize the significant influence of KOLs in e-commerce live streaming, impacting customers perceived value and trust and shaping their purchasing intentions for skincare products. Based on these insights, it is recommended that e-commerce sellers continue leveraging KOLs in their live streaming features to enhance customers desire to buy skincare products. This research provides valuable guidance for refining strategies and maximizing the potential of live streaming platforms in the ever-evolving beauty industry.

Developing Marketing Strategies for Pharmaceutical Industry in Indonesia

Abstract

Pharmaceuticals are a promising industry in Indonesia. The government has added the pharmaceutical and medical device industries as priority sectors to carry out the Making Indonesia 4.0 program in response to the rising demand. One form of product sold by pharmaceutical companies is FSMPs, which are foods that are specially formulated to meet the medical needs of a particular individual. Between 2022 and 2030, the global market for food designed for special medical purposes (FSMP) is projected to experience a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.5%. This growth is driven by factors such as the rising occurrence of chronic illnesses, an expanding understanding of the advantages offered by FSMPs, growing demand from emerging markets, and a notable surge in demand for FSMPs from the healthcare sector. All these factors contribute to the overall growth of the FSMP market. As one of the pharmaceutical products whose marketing regulations are strictly regulated by the government, there are certain challenges that will require multistakeholder attention in a coordinated way to overcome. Marketing for FSMPs tends to focus on influencing and educating users as recommenders, who act as the customers and prescribe pharmaceutical products, rather than directly targeting end users. This makes it distinct from marketing efforts for other consumer products. This study will collect marketing insights through a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews. Remarkably, this research found that a competitive marketing strategy suitable for FSMPs needs to focus on their marketing efforts through healthcare business partners.
