Understanding the Effect of Human Capital Management Practices on Lecturer Performance

Abstract

Lecturers play a very important and strategic role for the progress of a tertiary institution. Lecturers are professional educators who can determine what is good for students based on their professional judgment, so that it is one of the main determinants in maintaining continuity and ensuring a conducive atmosphere for higher education. The presence of lecturers greatly determines the quality of education and graduates produced by universities, in addition to being generally determined by the quality of the universities themselves. Awareness of the importance of human capital makes business units pay attention to appropriate human capital management practices as a preventive solution to improve employee performance.
The development of a research role from previous research or relevant research is very important, because it can help and function to strengthen theoretical studies and phenomena of the relationship or influence between variables in a study. factors that influence lecturer performance and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) which include individual character, organizational culture and individual behavior.
The expected results of this study contribute to people and management topics, especially in human resource management in higher education units. For practical contributions, this research provides credible evidence on how the involvement of factors in improving lecturer performance.
