Work-Life Balance in Indonesia^s Public Sector

Abstract

Work-life balance is essential for all employees today, particularly those in the public sector. However, currently, there is a lack of studies on work-life balance in the public sector in Indonesia. This study aims to develop propositions about work-life balance in Indonesia^s public sector. With the support of literature studies, a qualitative research approach was utilized to discover research reference models to explain the factors that affect work-life balance in Indonesia^s public sector. This study proposed a model that organizational culture, job autonomy, and supervisor support are essential and positively impact work-life balance in Indonesia^s public sector. This research is expected to contribute to the field of management and policy formulation in the public sector. Recent government policies regarding simplifying bureaucracy and applying new values to all government employees relate to organizational culture, job autonomy, and supervisor support.
