RESEARCH TEAM EFFECTIVENESS: THE ROLE OF SHARED LEADERSHIP AND TEAM TRUST WITH COHESIVENESS TEAM AND COLLECTIVE EFFICACY AS MEDIATORS The State University of Jakarta Abstract Purpose: Collaboration in research team becomes increasingly popular along with the need for research findings that provide contributions of knowledge and scientific solutions from multidisciplinary studies. Following the model of IPO (inputs, processes, outputs), this study examined the influence of two input factors- shared leadership and team trust on research team effectiveness as measured by the individual-kevel team outcomes- subjective perceived performance, team member satisfaction and team viability. This study also examined the mediating effect of the process factors- team cohesion and collective efficacy. It was hypothesized that shared leadership and team trust would predict team effectiveness, with team cohesion and collective efficacy as mediators. Based on previous literature reviews, it can be concluded that these input factors (shared leadership and cognition-based trust) and team processes (team cohesion and collective efficacy) have positive impacts on team effectiveness. Keywords: team effectiveness, shared leadership, cognition-based trust, collective efficacy and team cohesion Topic: Management |
