Pembangunan Ekonomi Indonesia vs Turki dalam Perspektif Geopolitik, Geoekonomi, dan Geostrategi
Siti Inayatul Faizah

Universitas Airlangga

Abstract

Abstract

Banking and Finance around the world is also being challenged by the emerging geopolitical context. Geopolitical economy powershift- particularly among the US, and China will push further regionalization of the global economy between these big economies. This powershift includes a change in the value of power in military, economic and technological aspects in the age of globalisation. Previous studies has recognised the ongoing leadership and influence competition between the West and Asia, which has included the development of collective financial statecraft tools.

Islamic Banking and Finance (ISBF), since its expansion, creates a link between new geographies and financial power. ISBF is now become a feature of financial landscapes and represents a key trend in global finance over the last 15 years (Pollard and Samers, 2007) and Islamic movement (Henry and Wilson, 2012). This purpose of this paper is to examine the the significance influence of Islamic Finance (IF) in OIC financial statecraft as a political economy tool in achieving geopolitical economy security objectives and other economic goals in Indo-pacific by creating path analysis and testing on hypothesis using Multi layer feed-forward Neural network.

This paper adds to the existing research on methods to ISBF by integrating the concept of national power indicators, Monetary and financial profile indictors and Geopolitical economics.

This study hopes to illuminate the decision and policy making process for government, legislator, investors and practitioner to fully appreciate the role of ISBF either to promote, prevent or permit the regional economic framework made by the US and/or China in Indo-Pacific in a form of policy options

Abstract

Abstract

entrepreneurial activities play an active role in contributing to the national economy in general. Not only that, the role of entrepreneurial activities through micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has a very important role in maintaining the country^s economic stability, especially when there was an economic crisis in Indonesia in 1998. The activities of MSMEs cannot be separated from entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship). Where entrepreneurial activities are expected to be a character for the people and nation of Indonesia, thus giving birth to a reliable, resilient, and independent New Entrepreneur (NE).The development and improvement of Sharia entrepreneurs is encouraged massively and sustainably in order to increase its existence. Several developments have been carried out, one of which has been carried out the development of sharia entrepreneurship based on Islamic entrepreneurship model (IEM) based on local wisdom competitively by aiming at IEM as one of the government^s references or policy makers in creating and directing business actors to uphold sharia values, directing the community in having a sharia entrepreneurial spirit, improving business management skills and good finances, as well as their implementation in society. Leadership in Non-profit Organization: A Systematic Literature Review
Arridha Harahap

Airlangga University

Abstract

This study aims to collect various studies related to leadership in non-profit organizations. Several previous studies on non-profit organizations discussed more transparency, accountability, governance, and honesty in maintaining the sustainability of the non-profit organization. In contrast, the research linking leadership is still very minimal. Using the Systematic Literature Review method, which collects several papers on Scopus-indexed journal pages, leadership^s role in maintaining a non-profit organization^s sustainability can be studied further. The results of this study are expected to provide a new view that leadership can influence not only sustainability but also the independence of an organization that is not profit-based. In addition, the result of this study can be converted into Islamic Social Financial institutions such as ZIS, Waqf, or Waqf-based Educational institutions (pesantren). To show the form of leadership in that institution, how to understand the organization^s needs, decide a policy, and various other contributions. A leader also contributes to the success or failure of the institution in carrying out its social activities and maintaining its survival.

ANALYSIS OF CONSUMER BEHAVIOR IN ONLINE SHOPPING: ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE
Trisnaning Setya Sutjipto

Universitas Airlangga

Abstract

The development of the digital era has triggered changes in consumer behavior in using technology for transactions. The emergence of online shops and marketplaces or online shopping sites has become one of the lifestyle choices of today^s people to shop practically and efficiently. However, in making purchases, a Muslim must remain obedient to the corridors and values of sharia. The purpose of this study is to investigate how moslem consumer behavior in online shopping is obedient to guiding consumption principle in Islam. The method used in this research is a literature study which uses secondary data obtained from existing research and references. This study concludes that many findings from previous studies in Muslim-majority countries such as Saudi Arabia and Malaysia show non-compliance with Muslim consumer behavior towards sharia corridors and values as quoted in the Qur^an and As-Sunnah, especially in avoiding israf (one of the guiding principles of consumption in Islam is not to consume excessively/hedonism). There is no difference found regarding the method of the buying (online/offline). Both methods online and offline buying behavior have a positive significant relationship in consuming with hedonism style. Muslim consumers must behave moderately where they do not act excessive consumption which leads to tabdhir (wastefullness) and also israf (excesiveness) or deficiency to lead to bukhl (miserliness) as Al-Quran and As-Sunnah cited.

Abstract

Indonesia^s economic civilization after the active Covid-29 soared so badly that the government racked its brains to implement policies that could change Indonesia^s economic position to improve again. The right policy is to tackle government spending, especially in the tax sector, which can change the position of the economy as a significant government income. Tax sources can contribute greatly to the state budget. So that in 2011-2020 the Performance Invoice of the PPN Performance Tax has a ratio of 56.51% and a BRR of 0.60. The government automatically issues a tax on VAT as stated in Law no. 7 of 2021 concerning Harmonization of Tax Regulations. One of the sectors affected by the tax law is the logistics industry or company that is directly involved in domestic, export and import shipping. There are several logistics affected, one of which is PT. Lintang Bumi Nusantara Trans which has a direct impact because the biggest orientation is in the shipping service sector, so this company rotates policies related to price lists, especially prices on exports and imports, they even provide policies for customers so that they are not crucially affected by their assets. The large influence of taxes which are considered to have a significant impact greatly changes all sectors, especially the logistics industry, if the company does not provide new policies, it will be very detrimental to the assets owned and can even harm the company.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the influence of trust, brand awareness, social piety in the decision to donate using the fintech platform. This research concept was developed to examine the relationship between the four constructs. Moreover, purposive sampling technique included around 250 community respondents spread across Lombok island. Thus, this quantitative research with a case study approach gathered and analyzed data through SEM (Structural Equitional Modeling) technique. The findings showed positive and significant influence between trust on the decision to donate through the fintech platform, significant relationship between brand awareness and social piety and the decision to donate through the fintech platform. Meanwhile, brand awareness of social piety, and trust on social piety do not impact each component. Hence, this research implied that digital platforms are fundraising institutions that are active in carrying out humanitarian missions by collecting funds from the public through the fintech platform so that they always prioritize the principle of openness in managing public funds. Transparency can increase public trust so that they will spontaneously always use the platform whenever they want to channel funds.

(a) Airlangga University

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the factors influencing donors in making digital payments of zakat, infaq, shadaqah (ZIS) and identify the dominant factors influencing donors in paying ZIS digitally. This study uses a combination of UTAUT 2 with an initial trust model. Primary data is collected through an online survey involving 103 donors from various provinces in Indonesia who have or will pay zakat, infaq, and shadaqah digitally and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM PLS). This study uses a relatively small sample size compared to the size of the Indonesian population. Thus, the results should be analyzed according to the observed sample. Zakat institutions must ensure that their system can provide pleasure, initial trust, and facilitating conditions (network and security). These three factors affect the intention to pay zakat, infaq, and shadaqah digitally. The research provides additional quantitative study literacy on the behavior of paying zakat, infaq, and shadaqah digitally, especially in Indonesia.

AN EXAMINATION OF THE DETERMINANT INTENTION TO USE IN ZISWAF CROWDFUNDING
Ayun Qolbi

Fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis, Universitas Airlangga

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Purposes: Trust is an important variable in wakaf institutions, especially in wakaf crowdfunding. In theory, trust is built from donors to increase donors^ intentions of channeling their assets to the institution, especially to institutions that collect funds online. However, in less than a year, there has been a public trust issue related to the embezzlement of donated funds in Indonesia. Based on this case, this study examines the effect on attitude and intention of using an online donation. In addition to the trustworthiness of the assessment of the use of technology in this study, the variable perceived usefulness is used to determine the effectiveness of this service and the perceived ease of use to determine whether this service is friendly to users.
Methods: This study uses quantitative methods. For data analysis, we use SEM-PLS using SmartPLS 3.3. This study uses a survey with a Likert scale of 1-5 of 100 samples of Muslims above 18 age, especially in east java.
Results: The result of this study indicate the intention to use is influenced by variables such as perceived ease of use,and attitude, for the perceived usefulness and trust not influenced.
Conclusion and suggestion: to develop and optimize ziswaf crowdfunding using an online campaign, we must first consider our services, such as whether this service really helps or not for donors, and then the steps for payment are made as simple as possible so that donors give a good attitude and are more intentional to use online payments for ziswaf crowdfunding. For trust as the key to online transactions, ziswaf institutions must pay more attention to and increase donor trust through changes and improvements in financial management, such as monthly reports to minimize misappropriation of funds.

Dispute Settlement and Alternative Dispute Settlement Mechanisms in Islamic Fintech in Indonesia and Malaysia: A Comparative Study
Ripan Hermawan (a*)

*ripan[at]upi.edu

Abstract

The rapid growth of Islamic Fintech arguably has not been matched with a proven readiness of the relevant parties involved to resolve potential conflicts. As disputes naturally arise, parties involved in Islamic Fintech should be best prepared to overcome any potential disputes arising from their business practices. The parties should ideally be familiar with and best informed on the dispute settlement and alternative dispute settlement mechanisms applicable within their respective countries. The paper aims to explore the dispute settlement and alternative dispute settlement mechanisms available to parties in resolving disputes in the context of Islamic Fintech in Indonesia and Malaysia, two countries with large moslem populations and key players in Islamic Fintech. The study adopts a doctrinal legal method and uses secondary data collected from relevant regulations on dispute resolution in Islamic Fintech both in Indonesia and Malaysia. The findings reveal that a litigation in the religious court serves as the main method of dispute settlement mechanism for Islamic Fintech in Indonesia. In Malaysia, Islamic Fintech disputes are normally settled through litigation in the civil court. As regards the alternative dispute settlement mechanisms, mediation and arbitration are the two most viable, although not necessarily well-known, methods due to their simplicity, cost effectiveness, and privacy protection assurance. It is suggested that the alternative dispute settlement be the preferred solution to amicably resolve disputes in Islamic Fintech.

Abstract

The crisis caused by the pandemic COVID-19 has forced us to adapt in changing environments. To promote economic recovery post Covid-19, Islamic economics has a significant role. Islamic finance encourages production activities that creates additional value in products and services, creating economic growth in society. Since real economy relies on the local economy, it involves Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as well which suffer a lot due to Covid-19. Thus, they need the economy support to rebuild their business post-pandemic. However, most of the reachable financing option for MSMEs usually involve ribawi interest which against sharia principles. Therefore, the role of Peer-to-Peer Lending in Financial Technology (Fintech) is essential to provide non-ribawi debt to MSMEs. Moreover, it encourages participatory economics as part of moral economy.
The research will be conducted by the study case of igrow as fintech platform in providing micro-financing in Indonesian agriculture, in light of the Islamic moral economy concept. Furthermore, the data will be collected by analysing the Islamic moral economics aspect in igrow. Research findings suggest that igrow platform reflected the primary modes of production of Islamic moral economy through the participatory economy and profit-loss sharing. Besides overcoming capital problems, this fintech innovation succeeds to develop the participatory economy by involving urban society that does not have the farming skill and lack of land access as well as through the usage of unutilized land resources. The originality of this paper shows that participatory economy could be attained by the optimization of fintech by revealing how igrow method can be applied in re-embedding economy value in society and empowering agricultural sector in Indonesia. This study aprovides insights how government and other parties could utilize and optimize fintech as one of tools in alleviating poverty and encouraging inclusivity.
