Abstract
- Purpose: This paper aims to analyse research trends, lessons learned, the key issue, and challenges in research regarding Islamic Personal Finance Behavior
- Design/methodology/approach: This research uses the systematic literature review method by analysing scientific articles in the Web of Science and Scopus databases during the 2012-2022 timeframe using predetermined search keywords. In determining the articles used in the review, strategies include 1) Identification, 2) Screening, 3) Eligibility, and 4) Inclusion.
- Findings -Islamic Personal Finance Behavior articles were primarily published in 2016 and 2020, with most authors coming from the United Kingdom and using quantitative approaches. The shift in Islamic values is challenging for researchers to analyse and reconstruct the constructs of individual financial behaviour. Islamic Personal Finance Behavior is closely related to Islamic Religiosity. The research published in the selected articles in this study can be grouped into two major topics, i.e. Wealth Generations and Accumulations and Wealth Distribution with the most articles on Wealth Distribution.
- Research Limitations - This study only uses articles that are included in the ABDC list with A* and A ratings in the Scopus and WoS databases during 2012-2022
- Practical Implications: This research is expected to be a reference for a comprehensive study of Islamic Personal Finance Behavior.
