ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN AI-BASED MEASUREMENT TOOLS PADA KAMERA COGNEX IN-SIGHT D900 UNTUK DETEKSI CACAT

Abstract

This report presents the results of the Praktik Kerja Lapangan (PKL) undertaken by the author at PT&#8239-Dharma Precision Tools from January&#8239-20 to April&#8239-20, 2025. The internship aimed to apply instrumentation physics and industrial automation concepts using AI&#8209-based measurement tools with the Cognex In&#8209-Sight D900 vision system for product defect detection. Key methods employed included Train Pattern, Find Pattern, Edit Region, and ViDi Classify within the In&#8209-Sight Vision Suite software to identify and classify defects on components such as plastic bottle caps and liquid level measurements. Test results demonstrated improved accuracy and consistency in quality inspection compared to manual methods, along with significant time efficiency gains. Throughout the internship, the author encountered and resolved technical challenges-such as optimizing lighting conditions and mitigating dust interference-while developing skills in camera programming, system troubleshooting, and on&#8209-site problem solving. The report concludes with recommendations for further expanding AI&#8209-camera integration across additional production lines and enhancing data&#8209-training features to accelerate modeling processes.
