Abstract

This study explores the influence of Islamic spiritual counseling on anxiety levels and the quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Hemodialysis patients often face significant physical and psychological burdens, including anxiety, stress, and a diminished quality of life due to the chronic nature of kidney failure and frequent treatments. Islamic spiritual counseling provides a faith-based approach, incorporating Islamic teachings, values, and spiritual practices to offer emotional and psychological support. By addressing spiritual needs and enhancing coping mechanisms through religious guidance, this form of counseling aims to reduce anxiety levels and foster an improved outlook on life among patients. The study applies a qualitative approach to evaluate the effectiveness of Islamic spiritual counseling in alleviating anxiety and enhancing the quality of life. Participants include patients undergoing hemodialysis who have experienced counseling sessions centered on spiritual support and religious encouragement tailored to their individual needs. Findings indicate a reduction in anxiety levels, greater emotional stability, and a notable improvement in perceived quality of life among patients who engage in consistent spiritual counseling sessions. These outcomes demonstrate that integrating religious and spiritual elements into patient care can offer a holistic approach to addressing the psychological and emotional challenges faced by hemodialysis patients. This research highlights the potential of Islamic spiritual counseling as a complementary method within healthcare settings to improve overall patient well-being and to address the psychosocial dimensions of chronic illness, ultimately contributing to better patient outcomes and quality of life.
