Abstract
The use of hand sanitizers as protection for the general public has become a lifestyle today. Several types of hand sanitizing preparations can be found in various places. Alcohol is generally used as a germ-free material to clean the surface of the hands and clean the skin from various kinds of bacterial and fungal contamination. The alcohol in the hand sanitizer preparation has the function of killing bacteria and fungi, neutralizing various types of micro-organisms and fungi. Eucalyptus oil has antifungal or germicidal properties and is a necessary component to inhibit antimicrobial pathogenic bacteria. This study aims to make an alcohol-based hand sanitizer preparation with a combination of Eucalyptus oil extract that can clean the Aspergillus niger fungus. The results of this research, the pH measurement is indicated by a value of 7 and for the specific gravity test, the result is 0.8679 g/ml. Testing the power of cleaning hand sanitizer preparations with a test contact time of 60 seconds against Aspergillus niger. The test results of the cleaning power of the Aspergillus niger fungus in the preparation of hand sanitizer with a test contact time of 60 seconds, it was found that the cleaning power of the Aspergillus niger fungus was 99.9%. hand sanitizer preparations with a combination of Eucalyptus oil extract have very good effectiveness against the fungus Aspergillus niger and have good preparation quality in meeting pH, specific gravity, and viscosity tests of hand sanitizer preparations.
