Navigating Good and Responsible Governance of Personal Data in the Digital Age Researcher/Academic Abstract The phenomenon of personal data breaches has become a public controversy, leading to overlapping policy jurisdictions and a passing of the buck- therefore, this study attempts to navigate these issues to safeguard the integrity of personal data security in the digital age. It employs a normative qualitative research design with a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing both legal and conceptual frameworks. There are two research: how to navigate good governance with regard to personal data and how can minimize the challenges of good governance regarding personal data amid the rapid pace of the digital age?. The conclusion of this study is that responsible governance guided by a code of ethics and moral and professional standards will create a resilient personal data security system that is difficult to hack. This is achieved by continuously striving to improve the system through periodic security enhancements, such as strengthening regulations, upgrading facilities and infrastructure, tightening data security protocols, and ensuring that human resources are skilled and competent all carried out transparently, accountability, and efficiencyall of which are accessible to the public. Responsibility cannot be shifted to other parties- instead, issues must be resolved internally within the organizations own structural framework, using regulations as a reference to define the institutions position and its specific duties and functions, thereby establishing its own measurable and well directed course of action.
