Abstract

Pressure gauges are widely used to monitor pressure in various industrial applications. Over time, frequent use can affect their accuracy, making periodic calibration essential. This study compares two international calibration standards-DKD-R 6-1 (Germany) and BS EN 837-1 (UK)-to assess their effectiveness in pressure gauge calibration. The DKD-R 6-1 method, with its single-sequence approach, offers efficiency but higher variability in measurement corrections. In contrast, BS EN 837-1, which includes multiple repetitions and hysteresis checks, demonstrates greater measurement consistency and accuracy. Results show that BS EN 837-1 is better suited for comprehensive laboratory calibration, while DKD-R 6-1 remains a useful alternative for quicker procedures with acceptable uncertainty. The choice of method should align with laboratory accuracy demands and operational efficiency goals.
