Digitalization of Businesses With Fintech to Enhance Financial Inclusion for Salted Fish Small And Medium Enterprises in Eastern Aceh

Abstract

The digitalization of businesses is expanding into the banking and financial sectors, making it easier for entrepreneurs to access financial services anywhere. Digitization promotes financial inclusion in Indonesia by providing digital banking and financial services that can be accessed from anywhere. Salted fish businesses in the eastern region of Aceh need help accessing financial services due to uneven access to financial services, hindering business development. The urgency of this research is the need for a study on the appropriate strategies to enhance financial inclusion for MSMEs. This research aims to develop a digitalization strategy for salted fish businesses with fintech to increase financial inclusion in the eastern region of Aceh. The respondents in this research are fifty-four salted fish entrepreneurs in three locations in the eastern region of Aceh, including Langsa City, Kuala Simpang District, and East Aceh District. This research used SWOT Analysis to formulate the strategy. The results show that salted fish entrepreneurs face various threats or risks and have internal weaknesses in using fintech. Therefore, a defensive strategy needs to be implemented to enable salted fish entrepreneurs to undergo digital financial transformation in their businesses.
