Enhancing the Durability of Shrimp Pond Gates Through the Application of Eco-Friendly Hybrid Concrete in Langsa City (a) Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Sains and Technology, Universitas Samudra, 24415 Langsa City, Indonesia. Abstract Langsa City, located in Aceh Province, has extensive traditional shrimp pond areas covering 2,067.50 hectares, contributing 15% of the province^s total shrimp production. However, shrimp production has declined from 8,348 tons in 2010 to 6,523 tons in 2018. One contributing factor is the deterioration of the pond gates, particularly in the Sungai Pauh Tanjung area, made of wood, which is affected by flooding and climate change. High salinity levels due to climate change accelerate the decay of wooden structures, limiting their lifespan. Leakage often occurs at the submerged areas of the gates, causing shrimp and feed to escape unnoticed. Flood pressure leads to the destruction of these aging wooden gates. To address this issue, it is essential to enhance the durability of pond gates to prevent crop losses for shrimp farmers. This research aims to improve the durability of pond gates using eco-friendly hybrid concrete incorporating Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) and Palm Oil Clinker (POC) in the Sungai Pauh Tanjung area. The methodology begins with a situational analysis of the pond gates to identify problems, followed by designing the gates with hybrid concrete and calculating the mix design using materials sourced from nearby palm oil mills. Testing of hybrid concrete specimens is conducted at the Integrated Laboratory of Samudra University at 7, 14, and 28 days. The final stage involves reinforcing and pouring hybrid concrete for the pond gates, measuring 80 cm wide and 100 cm high. The application of K-250 quality technology has successfully addressed leakage and flood pressure issues. Training and assistance in the construction process are provided to local farmer groups to facilitate knowledge transfer, enabling broader application of the hybrid concrete gates. The results indicate that these concrete gates effectively prevent leaks, decay, and extend their lifespan.
