Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, especially in women. In most countries, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Family support is a factor that influences the quality of life of breast cancer patients. The aim of this systematic review study is to identify the role of family support in the quality of life of breast cancer patients.

Methods: This study used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analysis) method without meta-analysis. The articles reviewed were articles from 2015-2024. Article searches were conducted using the ScienceDirect, PubMed, EBSCOhost, and Google Scholar databases. From 260 articles relevant to the keywords, 12 articles were eligible for review

Result: The role of the family is an important factor related to the quality of life of breast cancer patients. The results of the article analysis showed that the role of family support related to all dimensions of the quality of life (QoL) of breast cancer patients is in the form of emotional support and real support.

Conclusion: Family support can affect the quality of life of breast cancer patients. So the better the family support received by the patient, the better the patient^s quality of life will be in all dimensions of quality of life.
