Abstract
This study was intended to find out how teachers^ academic qualifications and teacher certification affect the quality of education. This study was conducted using secondary data from 11,313 vocational school teachers in DKI Jakarta Province. The results showed that teachers^ academic qualifications affect the quality of education while teacher certification does not directly affect the quality of education. However, other research results found a positive effect of certification on teacher performance, teacher competence, and teacher motivation. These results indicated that teacher certification also has an indirect effect on the quality of education. Hence, it can be concluded that teacher academic qualifications and teacher certification are important interventions to foster the quality of education, particularly in vocational schools.
