Abstract
To improve the quality of education in schools and assist the learning process, the best national education standards are needed. To develop process skills in science learning, experimentation, observation and practicum activities are necessary. Therefore, adequate facilities and infrastructure must be available. Based on observations in junior high schools that the tools and materials available in the Science Laboratory are inadequate and not functioning and materials that are sometimes insufficient for the practicum process. This study aims to determine how the management of Science Laboratory Facilities and Infrastructure as an effort to improve the quality of science learning. A qualitative method with a descriptive analysis approach was used in this study. According to the results of the study, laboratory management is currently in the planning stage in this school and has been adjusted to its circumstances. Science managers and instructors discuss the facilities to be purchased during the procurement process. Although the management of educational facilities and infrastructure has optimized all objectives, the management of science laboratory facilities and infrastructure has not been fully implemented in accordance with applicable management standards. Many factors, such as the lack of time from the laboratory head who has to handle other routine tasks, affect how well the science laboratory facilities are managed. In addition, science laboratory facility managers do not have sufficient knowledge and skills to carry out their duties and responsibilities in managing science laboratory facilities and infrastructure.
