Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of digital comic media on elementary school students^ reading skills. This research was conducted at one of Elementary School, East Jakarta, in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in this research is pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. This study took a sample of 32 students, the research sample used only one class, namely experimental class III A. The instrument used in this study was a cognitive test which was presented in the form of multiple choices. The data analysis technique used in this study is the n-gain test using a predetermined formula, the normality test using Shapiro Wilk, the homogeneity test using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance), and the T-test or hypothesis test using the Paired Sample Sig value. 2- tailed) denotes a value of 0.000. This shows that Sig.(2-tailed) < 0.05, namely 0.000 < 0.05, then H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, because Sig.(2-tailed) is below 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use of comic media on the reading skills of class III A students at Elementary School.
