Activating Schools as Catalysts: What Works to Support Teacher Continuing Professional Development? Universitas Negeri Jakarta Abstract This research aimed to analyze the role of driving schools in the implementation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers. The research was conducted in three senior high schools in Jakarta that have become driving schools. The subjects in this study were principals and teachers. This study used qualitative methodology. Data were collected through interviews and observations. In general, the implementation of teachers CPD in senior high schools in Jakarta as a driving school has not run optimally because the scientific publication element has not been carried out based on the CPD program. The principal as the CPD coordinator in each school has not socialized with the CPD program. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct evaluation or counseling actions and make teachers aware of their participation in the CPD program so that the training provided is of high quality, especially in driving schools. The role of the school through the principal in the implementation of CPD in the driving schools is leadership, mentoring, training, and evaluation of teacher activities.
