Independent Curriculum Implementation in Developing the Creativity of High Grade Elementary School Students

Abstract

The Merdeka curriculum is the curriculum currently used and implemented in schools in Indonesia. It consists of 6 student profiles that every student should possess, which are: being faithful, devout to the One and Only God, having noble character, embracing global diversity, being independent, practicing mutual cooperation, having critical thinking skills, and being creative. However, since this curriculum is relatively new, some teachers may still struggle to provide good examples for students. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the roles of elementary school teachers and principals in developing students^ creativity and determining the appropriate learning models based on their needs. The researcher adopts a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type. The research findings indicate that both teachers and principals play a crucial role in fostering students^ creativity, and various learning models are utilized to enhance the creativity of elementary school students.
