SUITABILITY OF EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND TO TEACHER PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE

Abstract

A teacher is tasked with teaching, educating, nurturing, guiding, providing direction, training, facilitating and shaping the personality of students to prepare future generations of human resources. The professional attitude of a teacher can help realize to fulfill the duties of a teacher. Educational institutions that aim to produce talented, innovative and skilled students may be lost due to the quality of unprofessional teachers. The need for teachers professional skills is based on several assumptions and some specific requirements that teacher professional education must fulfill. Becoming a professional teacher can be influenced by one of them with the appropriate educational background factor in their field. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative which comprehensively describes and shows the suitability of teachers educational background with the level of teachers professional skills. Three types of research data sources, namely: Person (Madrasah Head and Teachers / Educators), Place (MIS Assa^adah) and Documents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the suitability of a teacher^s educational background for professional competence. The results obtained from this study are that the teachers professional competence is not only obtained from the educational background, but can also be obtained by the length of time a teacher teaches at the school. A teacher can continue to upgrade himself to be more qualified and professional by attending trainings that are widely organized. With the existence of professional teachers, it is hoped that they can guide students towards a more directed gate for the future progress of the nation.
