Development of an Automated Short Essay Scoring Assessment Model as a Learning Solution in the Digital Technology Era Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara Abstract The background of this research is based on the importance of an assessment model as a learning solution in the digital era. This research was conducted using a research and development approach. This research aims to: (1) identify the level of need for the Automated Short Essay Scoring assessment model for semester VI students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program at the Islamic University of North Sumatera, (2) Assessment model of Automated Short Essay Secoring for students in semester VII of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Islamic University of North Sumatera, (3) measuring the level of validity and practicality of using the Automated Short Essay Scoring assessment model for semester VII students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, Islamic University of North Sumatera. This research was developed using the ADDIE Model with Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation Steps. The research was carried out on semester VI students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program at the Islamic University of North Sumatera. The subjects of this study were 2 validators consisting of content/material experts and learning design experts and 20 semester VI students of the Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, and 1 lecturer in the Education Research Methodology course. Data collection used a needs identification questionnaire, content/material expert validation questionnaire, design expert questionnaire, student response trial questionnaire, subject teacher response questionnaire, and supporting documentation in this study. Data analysis techniques are descriptive qualitative and descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that the identification of the level of student needs is in the required qualifications, identification of material needs those who answer yes are in the much needed qualifications while those who answer no are in the very less needed qualifications. Furthermore, the results of the validation of content/material experts are in very good qualifications, the validation of design experts is in good qualifications, in the trial stage the student responses get very good results, and the responses of the lecturers supporting the Educational Research Methodology Course are in very good qualifications. the conclusion from the results of this study is that the level of needs analysis of the Automated Short Essay Scoring Assessment Model is in the required qualifications as an assessment product in this digital technology era that is valid and practical.
