Abstract

This study aims to describe the feasibility and effectiveness of contextual learning-based modules to improve civics learning outcomes for fourth grade students at SD Negeri 106790 Sei Mencirim. This research is research and development, with the ADDIE model development design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results of the feasibility assessment of the PPKn module based on contextual learning by material experts obtained a percentage of 86% with Very Eligible criteria. The results of the assessment of the feasibility of the PPKn module based on contextual learning by design experts obtained a percentage of 89% with Very Eligible criteria. The results of the feasibility assessment of the PPKn module based on contextual learning by linguists obtained a percentage of 88% with Very Eligible criteria. The PPKn module was tested to determine the effectiveness of the product in improving the learning outcomes of 26 grade IV students at SD Negeri 106790 Sei Mencirim. The results of the assessment of student learning success in the initial conditions were 38% with Poor criteria and after using the PPKn module based on contextual learning Student success was 86% with Good criteria. Thus there is an increase in the learning success of class IV students at SD Negeri 106790 Sei Mencirim by 48%. Based on these results, it was obtained that the n-gain score of student learning success was 0.77 which was classified as high.
