Abstract
Flouting of conversational maxims occurs when the speaker conveys information that a search for hidden or even ambiguous meaning with a consequence of the intenlocutor^s. The present study aims to find the kinds of flouting maxims used by hosts and guests in Deddy Corbuzier^s podcast. Applying Grice^s (1975) principle to identify the process of structuring flouting in conversational maxims and to determine the kinds of flouting in conversational maxims. The data was collected by observation method and analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. The findings show that there are four kinds of flouting maxims used by hosts and guests. The source of data taken from 106 utterances which spoken by host and guest in podcast. The kinds of flouting maxims most dominant from guests and hosts utterances in this podcast namely flouting maxim of quality, the frequency for guests is 23 (38%) and 22 hosts (49%). The findings showed that the most dominants kinds of flouting maxims is used by hosts and guests flouting maxim of quality because hosts and guests often give statements saying things for which there is insufficient evidence. In other words, the characters want to hide a fact from their statement.
