Abstract
Talent identification and development in sports for early childhood is more about the concept of development. Efforts to find out children^s sports talents from an early age are very important because in addition to knowing the initial competencies possessed by children, they can also be used for nurturing prospective athletes in the future. This study aims to report the results of a systematic analysis of various articles published between 2017 and 2021 on the results of research on the identification and development of sports talent in early childhood. We use international databases such as google schoolar tandfoline, sciencedirect, and proquest. Articles from various databases were selected using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) approach. The results of the 16 selected articles revealed that the identification and development of sports talent in early childhood tends to use aspects of motor competence, especially through measuring fundamental motor skills (FMS). In addition, it is also recommended to include psychological aspects and sociological aspects to complete it. This empirical evidence becomes the conceptual basis for developing further research on the identification and development of multidimensional sports talent in early childhood.
