Abstract
There are 4 dimensions to measure the sports development index, namely the dimension of sports human resources, the dimension of community participation, the dimension of open space/public space for exercise and the dimension of community physical fitness. This study aims to identify the existing conditions of green open spaces that are used for sports activities so that the physical fitness condition of the community will be measured. The basic methodology used in this study using a mixed method (Mixed Method), namely the sequential mixed method (sequential mixed methods) is a strategy for researchers to combine the data found from one method with another method. This strategy can be done by interviewing first to get qualitative data, then followed by quantitative data in this case using a survey. The results of this study are expected to increase the potential of the region as a sports tourism destination based on DBON regulations through the integration of local communities. Thus, the community can optimize the area by utilizing unproductive land into a place that can be used for community sports which ultimately leads to the development of sports tourism that applies the concept of green tourism.
