One of the materials contained in elementary school learning is Aquatic learning activities, namely swimming. The need for an understanding of aquatic learning for teachers so that it can be applied appropriately to the age of elementary school children. This research is part of the research master design of the State University of Jakarta which focuses on educational models in schools. The study aims to produce a game-based Aquatic Kids Breathing model for children aged 6-9 years. The research method uses research and development methods (Research and Development [R &D]). The research time was carried out for two years. Borg and Gall (2003) mention that R&D includes steps: (1) preliminary studies, (2) planning, (3) model development, (4) early model review, (5) early model revision, (6) limited trials, (7) revision of the trial result model, (8) widespread trial, (9) finalization of the model, (10) dissemination and implementation of the model.
In the first year, the study produced a preliminary study that illustrated that elementary school teachers knew game-based Aquatic Kids Breathing, further allowing teachers to do a game-based Aquatic Kids Breathing model for children aged 6-9 years.
