PARENTS^ EXPECTATIONS, CHILDREN^S GROWTH AND IMPROVEMENT OF COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR KIDS ATHLETIC TRAINING.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of children^s athletic activities on children^s movement abilities as well as the growth and development of communication skills as well as parents^ expectations as long as children participate in children^s athletic training at the Rawamangun athletic school, as many as ten children aged 2-5 years and 12 children aged 6 -8 years. The research method is descriptive by using a body mass index instrument, a questionnaire on parental expectations and children^s communication, and changes in children^s movement abilities for six months following the exercise. As many as 76% of children experienced increased basic movements, and 83% had progressed in communication. The average increase in height is 1.2 cm, and the average parent wants the child to participate in kids^ athletic activities to develop movement skills and social interactions with their peers.
