Abstract
Purposes: This study aims to describe the optimization of Islamic human capital as a strategy for competitive advantage in the creative economy sector in the halal industry in the VUCA era.
Methods: This study uses descriptive qualitative methods through literature studies on researchs that discusses the creative economy in the halal industry using Islamic human capital as it core values.
Results: Research shows that to improve the performance of the creative economy sector in the halal industry, it is necessary to increase human capital based on Islamic values to increase competitive advantage. To remain able to compete and survive in the long term, it is necessary to conduct supervision, training and improvement of Islamic human resources so that the halal industry in Indonesia is able to achieve its vision to dominate the global market.
Conclusion and suggestion: Human capital is a crucial factor in increasing competence in the creative economy sector. In the halal industry, human capital needs to be equipped with Islamic values and principles to increase its competitive advantage, especially in the VUCA era. For future research, it is necessary to study further about other sectors that contribute a high value to Indonesia GDP.
