Abstract

Goal: Increased competition between emerging and developing countries in the halal market has increased the interest of researchers in this field for several years. In this context, this study aims to analyze studies published in the international literature on halal tourism management between 2012 to 2021 in bibliometric characteristics and to reveal trends and trends of this publication within the framework of specific parameters. Design/methodology/approach - In line with this aim, the topic ^halal management^ tourism^ is the keyword used in searching for publications related to it in the database ^Science Network.^ Publications on the management of halal tourism studied in the context of the year, number, genre, the field of research, the field of study, journal in which they are found, number of authors and number of publications, approach to research publications, themes publication, the country where the research data was collected, the name of the author in the publication and the author^s publication number, and the number of citations. Findings - In this paper, it is determined that studies in halal management tourism have been increasing in recent years. It was concluded that this study was mainly conducted after 2012 and showed a significant improvement in 2020, primarily publication in the form of a journal. With the most authors from Technological University Mara, as many as 32 articles. Also, the most relevant keywords are halal tourism keywords 16% and mentioned 43 times. Originality/value - This paper examines the study of halal tourism management between 2012 and 2021 with bibliometric analysis techniques. Thus, aiming to learn more about halal tourism management that can be developed in Indonesia.
