ANALYSIS OF THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNMENT AND SOCIETY ON ZAKAT IN EAST JAVA PROVINCE

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of government and society in zakat in East Java. This is assessed using the macro dimensions of the national zakat index. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method with the National Zakat Index analysis tool. The research was conducted by giving a questionnaire to BAZNAS regarding the required data. The results obtained by BAZNAS of East Java Province on the macro dimension is 0.31 which indicates a poor value. This was caused by several factors, including the low budget support for BAZNAS operational costs and the very low value of the muzakki ratio for both individuals and business entities.
