Abstract

The dynamic price of fossil fuel in many developing countries include Indonesia deal with political instability especially when releasing the subsidy that means higher fuel price. Many study showed the negative impact of higher fuel price. In another way of thinking, the preparation to release non only subsidy but also to release the dependece to fuel is important thing. As the second or third largest fuel consumption, transport sector must be given attention in alleviating fossil fuel dependence. Sustainable transport is the promising one and practiced in many megapolitan cities in advanced countries in the world, couple years ago. Jakarta belong to one megapolitan city in the world start practiced it in 2018 until now. Use Benefit Cost Analysis, I found this project is costly in the short term but beneficial for the long term. For sustainability reason It is quite challenging to finance this program so it needs support from national government and participation from private and society through waqf or sukuk.
