The Effect of Online Learning to Academic Engagement during Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced us to adapt. One of the adaptations for university is online learning. The adaptation from offline direct face to face learning to online learning may cause different engagement, therefore the effect of online learning to students^ academic engagement is important to study. Online learning is seen through adoption and attitude. The aim of the research is to see whether the factors of online learning engagement will affect academic engagement directly or mediated by other factors. The result shows there is mediating factor of online learning effect on academic engagement. Covid-19 pandemic is gradually seen less of an eminent threat in recent development and many things are gradually back to as before. Online learning which initially was perceived as temporary solution during the pandemic, is now noticed as possible alternative learning delivery nowadays. Therefore, with this knowledge, universities can adapt its learning delivery strategy to ensure students^ academic engagement with online learning.
